Info about PID??? |
Someone asked me what causes PID. Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, but that's not what caused it for her. Sources also say that an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina causes it. What does that mean exactly? Is it possible that bacteria could have caused it? Or another way? She's freakin' out about it. Please if ya have any info. Thanx! Webmd says that those two cause 90% of PID the other are abortion, childbirth, and pelvic procedures. But those aren't it either.. ??? PID is pelvic inflammatory disease. It is caused by chronic inflammation of the reproductive tract. Inflammation is often the result of rampant infection, whether by Chlamydia, gonorrhea or even bacterial vaginosis (Gardnerella bacteria -- that thing you called "imbalance of bacteria"). http://www.cdc.gov/std/PID/STDFact-PID.h... she needs to talk to the doctor who diagnosed her about her specific diagnosis. it is a generic term for pelvic infection which may have a variety of causes. she needs to go see a doctor |
