Can a pelvic exam detect PID? |
I had chlamydia once and was afraid of getting PID. I went and had a pap smear and pelvic exam done recently and was told I was fine. Would the doctor have been able to tell if I had PID when he did the exam or would I need additional tests? Your pap smear would come back irregular. But then again maybe something it wouldn't. If you feel you need addtional test ask for them. did you ask the doctor to check for PID? if not, chances are it will show up, but you should always ASK for tests/exams if you think there is a chance you could get/have such diseases. I think that you should be more open with your doctor so that he can order additional tests. |
