What treatment can a man do to prevent giving a new partner PID?

My friend is getting divorced. His wife has PID. What does he need to do, so that he doesn't pass PID to any future partner?

PID is not transmitted from a male to a female, unless he had an STD. PID is usually caused by an STD so someone wasn't all that faithful. He needs to be screened for ALL STD'S.
