Is there a test that can determine if I have pid? |
im concerned about not being able to get pregnant in the future. at a early age I was raped and didnt know I had chlamydia for yrs. I cured it when i got my first pap smear. but now I read that I could have pid and there is no specific tests. I have alot of vaginal discharges but they have no odor at all, but i have irregular menstruations for all my life. but that might not be because of pid. There is no specific test for PID but it can be diagnosed based on your symptoms, an exam. and maybe lab tests. My advice is to see your Gyno and tell him/her exactly what you have written here. Your history of chlamydia does increase your risk of having PID, but that doesn't mean that you have it or that you are infertile. Go talk to your gynocologist. They will be able to answer any questions you may have, and may be able to run some tests. Don't give up ever. You are very strong for enduring what you have endured!. Know that you can confide in your gyno! Good Luck! |
