When i got my paps test it was abnormal but they said i didnt have any stds does that mean i have pid? |
i was wondering do i have pid because when i used to have std i got them cured with atibiotics and now when i go for the pap test they said that its abnormal but so do that mean theres a chance i can have pelvic imflamatory disese and i ask her could i have hpv and she said kno it could be from trauma to having sex The ONLY reason to get an abnormal pap is from HPV. It means that they found abnormal (pre-cancerous) cells on your cervix. It is a virus which means the body has to clear itself of it and it usally will within 5 years. It sounds like you don't have a very smart doctor. Now in the meantme you need to find a new doctor (maybe look and see if there are any teaching hospitals near you, they have the best knowledge usually) and have paps about every 3 months to check and make sure it doesn't turn into cancer. This is nothing to be shy about they say if you have about 4 partners in your lifetime you will have some strain of HPV. Just make sure you keep going back to the doctor to monitor it. Pap test wont diagnose a PID, yes you have a higher risk of getting PID due to your previous STD's, but a Pap test is only a screening tool for Cervical Cancer. Hello, Abnormal PaP tests can be due to a number of things. |
