i was wondering do i have pid because when i used to have std i got them cured with atibiotics and now when i go for the pap test they said that its abnormal but so do that mean theres a chance i can have pelvic imflamatory disese and i ask her could i have hpv and she said kno it could be from trauma to having sex

The ONLY reason to get an abnormal pap is from HPV. It means that they found abnormal (pre-cancerous) cells on your cervix. It is a virus which means the body has to clear itself of it and it usally will within 5 years. It sounds like you don't have a very smart doctor. Now in the meantme you need to find a new doctor (maybe look and see if there are any teaching hospitals near you, they have the best knowledge usually) and have paps about every 3 months to check and make sure it doesn't turn into cancer. This is nothing to be shy about they say if you have about 4 partners in your lifetime you will have some strain of HPV. Just make sure you keep going back to the doctor to monitor it.

Pap test wont diagnose a PID, yes you have a higher risk of getting PID due to your previous STD's, but a Pap test is only a screening tool for Cervical Cancer.

Hello,
Get Tested for HPV. It causes cancer and abnormal Pap Smears. That nurse was WRONG to deny you an HPV test! You could sue her for that, especially if you develop cancer in the future! You should report them to the Department of Health for refusing to test you for HPV...
Listen, go to Another clinic--try calling 411 for your local Department of Health, or look in the phone book to see if there is a Planned Parenthood in your area.Tell them that you need to be tested for HPV. They might test you for free or low cost .
I see you that you might be African-American (from your name), and you may have been discriminated against due to your race. Even if the nurse was an African American person, sometimes blacks treat other blacks with less respect than they would a white patient..Anyway, Get Tested for HPV.

Abnormal PaP tests can be due to a number of things.
1. Trauma to the cervix
2. Infection
3. HPV
4. High dosages of birth control pills

You could've had HPV, but not an active case at the time of the exam. They could've done a swab to check for this.
I doubt you have a PID; however, because you usually know when that is present due to abdominal cramping and foul discharge. And the physician would've seen some kind of abnormality in the secretion colors during the Pap exam.
Some birth control pills have too much estogen in them for your particular body and can cause erosion to the cervix and produce an abnormal PaP. If your sexual partner is being a little too forceful with you during intercourse, this can also damage the cervix and sometimes cause bleeding. If you are concerned, go to free clinic, public health, and get rechecked.
