Are PET scans risky tests?

Hi:

I am going to be a subject in a research study that involves me taking a PET Scan. It will be conducted in a hospital by trained personnel. Is this risky?

no, not at all. i've been sick with a chronic illness since i was 9 and i have had so many scans its not even funny! i can assure you you will be fine :)

no, they will not hurt you You will not feel anything

Please see the web pages for more details on Positron emission tomography (PET).

I would say negligible as all the necessary
precautions are taken.
