Pap smear??????????????

if you have an abnormal pap does it mean that you have HPV?

No not necessarily, if your pap came out abnormal, go back to your doctor he or she will explain why and might even do another pap on you. something you get false abnormal results due to several things that can alter the conditions in your vagina.

Not necessarily.

No but you should check with your OB Gyn to be sure.

Not always. The "abnormality" could just be irritation or inflammation due to recent sex, a recent period, or any number of things. The only way to be sure about HPV is to have your doctor do an HPV test. Don't be scared!

No but it could be true - you need to get your results right away

not always, it could simply mean that you have a harmless infection or maybe more serious problems. You should be further tested.

No, it could be that or a number of other conditions. Talk with your doctor to see why it is abnormal and how it can be corrected!

No, it could just mean that you are at higher risk and should be more careful.

Not necessarily. I had one a few years ago and had to have a procedure called a colposcopy to have the abnormal cells "frozen" off. My paps have been normal ever since and I was never told that it was HPV so I'm assuming it wasn't. It is definitely a very good thing they caught it early so they can take care of it before it turns into something worse. Talk to your doctor to find out for sure.

normally but not always. They'll call u with the results or want to do another test.

usually when you have an abnormal pap it might mean a few different things.you might have an infection,a disease or hpv.hpv can be treated but make sure you check up on it every 6 months

no it could mean many things, check with ur doctor to get the results, it could be true read on HPV...

Not necessarily and usually if you do have an abnormal pap, the ob/gyn will automatically order a HPV test.

You could also get an abnormal from having sex the day before or from a recent yeast infection.

Not always.
