Does PAP Smear show HPV (if there are no warts at the moment)?

Does Pap Smear show if I have HPV?
I had pap smears every year and doctors never called me back (maening that they were normal). Last year I specifically asked my GYN to check for all the STDs, including HPV, and again she said it was fine.
After that (and long time before that, actually), I had been only with one guy, who is faithful and very careful (well, even if he cheated -0,00001% of a chance, he would use a condom for sure). Anyway, this night I woke up from inching my vagina (I don't have Yeast), and looked at it in the mirror... I saw WARTS!!! They were oblong shape - very disgusting... So my question is, why my PAP smears didn't show I had HPV - or maybe something elso can cause similar things? I am going to see my GYN next week, but I am freaking out now. Please help.Thanks.

These things can lie dormat for long periods of time. Sorry to hear about this. Just get them taken care of and take the proper steps to keep on top of your paps for cervical cancer. Best of luck to you!

well there are different strands of hpv, but with the pap they should be able to tell, and when they look at the cervics,
but the only thing they can do for the warts, is to remove them. that is what i am planning to talk to my doctor about this year because mine seem to be getting bigger.

but too, see if that is what it really is because it could just be a plain wart

hpv would show or can be transmitted with no signs or symptoms........

Definitely get that checked out ASAP!!! My friend has HPV with warts. When she got her pap test, the doctor found the HPV and later she had the warts, so I don't know why the test isn't showing you have HPV unless it's something else.
