Abnormal Pap Smear?

My nurse said that my pap smear came back abnormal and that I need to call her (I just happened to see her out and she hadn't called me yet) I have never had an abnormal pap smear so what exactly could this mean?

Also, I just had a baby 10 weeks ago and that was at my 6 week check up. Could that have anything to do with it?

It simply means they want to do the test again. Many many women get this report and only a very few go on to have problems. Please don't let it scare you. It's very common to have to retake the test.

An abnormal pap could be the result of:
having sex within 24 hours of the test
ovulating
having some abnormal cells on the cervix
don't sweat it until you know for sure what is causing the abnormal pap test.
