Has anyone tried Ozone Dental treatment? Pls share your experience?

Has anyone tried Ozone Dental treatment? Pls share your experience. Is it safe? Anyone tried using it for cracked tooth symptom (without doing root canal)?

Ozone is O3, it is used to kill anaerobic bacteria & bleaches your teeth to become whit by releasing O.

It is not suitable for cracked tooth as Ozone only treats decayed tissue that is infected with bacteria and this is not the problem in cracked tooth.

To be honest Ozone has no evidence backing it up and its a bit of a laughing stock in the dental world. All reserarch done on it has been seriously flawed.

august 07 ds 20mo we got ozone/art filling on front teeth and molars, inscisors not salvagable both pulled, one front tooth reozoned/art filling in dec. was pretty far gone in aug. decay appears to be arrested since august. added raw milk spring 07. fully attribute arrest of decay to ozone therapy/art fillings and raw dairy and clo. all work excepting 2 extractions done w/ baby in mothers lap. i was right next to him for extraction local numbing agent only restrained under five minutes. ten hour drive to holistic dentist each way. colorado to pocatello id. saved thousands not to mention no g.a. very happy with gappy sweet smile so pleased with patience and kindness of dentist care and tremendous amount of time spent w/ us short sessions lots of breaks. diet is key in prevention (brushing). ozone was crucial to stop decay once it began. raw milk rocks. questions welcome mama intuition rules

I have been using ozone in my Dental Practice for the past 5 years. It has been hugely popular with my patients and I have just returned from a World lecture tour of New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Shortly I will be lecturing in other countries as well. Ozone is an extremely powerful gas which effectively kills all bacteria and viruses without exception. It also has a number of other very valuable effects on the human body. However it is not a miracle treatment and needs to be understood by those who use it. You will often find that it is dismissed by those who have never used it, so I am not surprised by the previous comment. There is a considerable amount of validated and well thought of research available to anyone who has the ability to access it. Much of this research is still ongoing. To answer the original question I would say that it is unlikely that a symptomatic cracked tooth could be made symptomfree merely by applying ozone. The symptoms may well come from bacterial ingress, but will become reinfected if the crack is not permanently sealed. However ozone is used by many to disinfect cavities, to reduce the amount of drilling, to disinfect infected teeth in root treatment, to stop tooth decay in early stages, to bleach teeth, to treat gum disease, mouth ulcers and disinfect instruments and textiles, (as reported recently by BBC news). Ozone is widely used in industry as well. I don't think one should dismiss it so easily. My grandmother once told me that if you don't understand something, better to stay quiet and find out, rather than confirm your ignorance to everyone!

I've used HealOzone as a dental treatment for a number of years. To put it simply, it sterlises dentine (the inner part of the tooth) up to a depth of 2 mm. This is great news as it allows me to treat decaying teeth in a less destructive manner. My most memorable case was a young lady who was terrified of dentists and who had a number of very broken down teeth. I used the Ozone to stop the decay on one of her back teeth which was very badly broken down and I was subsequently able to keep her tooth alive and provide a crown. To the best of my knowledge, this is still a success. Dental Ozone treatment will not be suitable for every type of dental problem but it can be very effective in well chosen cases. HealOzone treatment is available at a number of dental practices across the UK on a private basis.

My then 23 month old had two quickly decaying molars and one deep cavity in a lateral incisor. We did two HealOzone treatments, with Fuji fillings placed in all three teeth. All three have arrested decay. I'd say this was a huge success! The treatment was painless, free of trauma, and very quick. I had to drive 10 hours each way for treatment, but I'd drive 20 if I had to.

Use of KaVo HealOzone (Ozone Therapy) for "cracked crown syndrome" has been successfully reported by many of the UK's x420 HealOzone users, but only to provide immediate relief from painful symptoms, so as to allow a patient to be re-appointed at a mutually convenient time for appropriate treatment. If this appropriate treatment involves root canal therapy, then again, KaVo HealOzone can play a major part in the complete erradication of enterococcus faecalis - the usual cause of "endo failure".

HealOzone plays a major role in creating the right environment within the mouth to allow natural remineralisation to occur, but it does not "grow new cusps" or "mend fractures". Certainly, there have been many successful treatments with respect to hypersensitive teeth, but with cracked crowns, the ozone-beneficial effects only tend to last until the patient bites down hard and opens up the crack again.

With respect to the "safety" component of the question at hand, a recent study by Dr Brian Millar at King's College London conclusively proved that KaVo HealOzone, which works with a "closed delivery" system (i.e. under a gentle vacuum), is to be recommended, as all other competitor products, which work with an "open delivery" system, are potentially extremely dangerous to the lung tissue of patients and dental staff alike.

I am disappointed with the unhelpful, misleading and totally innaccurate response from "Anne K", who appears seriously out of touch with the reality and current state of Ozone Research, both in general and specifically in relation to the CE-Marked, fully licenecd "Medical Device" known as KaVo HealOzone.
