I'm sensitive to smog, especially high ozone days...? |
especially on high ozone days, is there a device I can use to give some relief? Portable oxygen or something? I already get smog alerts. It's not an allergic reaction, it's more cardiac related, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc. - not something solved by a pill, unless it directly releases oxygen into the bloodstream, and/or defends against the effects of ozone inhalation. More like a portable oxygen generator or ozone filtration mask. I'd recommend two things. First, download Desktop Weather from the Weather Channel, so you can be alerted in advance when the ozone levels are going to be high in your area and plan accordingly. Second, talk to your doctor about Nasonex or some other prescription allergy relief nasal spray, and a prescription for an Albuterol inhaler and keep it with you at all times. If the ozone sensitivity gets really bad, your doctor can also prescribe a back-up inhaler with a more aggressive anti-inflammatory medication, like Vanceril. |
