I have asthma & bought an air purifier that produces ozone at 7-10 mg per hour. Is this harmful?

Yes! It is harmful.

Air purifiers that generate ozone will make your asthma worse. Get rid of those! Read the EPA Report on ozone air purifiers to get an independent comment on it.

I suggest you buy an Alen air purifier. Cheaper and just as effective as IQAir - the machine they used in hospitals during the bird flu outbreak

I'd have gone with a Hepa filter...they tend to clean more stuff out of the air. The ozone won't hurt you though. We'll all do what we have to to feel better.

Sorry this is irrelevant but cut out dairy as this exasperates the problems with people with respiratory problems.

im not sure...but make sure you are using sterilized water...or you could be inhaling contaminated mist water...like a friend of mine...she ended up gettting some kind of disease...I forgot what it was called.

alot of air purifier's get filthy and spew dust out in the air, so you are robbing peter to pay paul.

No its not harmful. I have bought a similar unit for my son as he has asthma and since I have bought it he has not required any steroids for his chest. Around the unit you may find it particularly dusty - ozone helps remove pollutants dust and bacteria from the air. I don't know the exact science but I am happy with the results so far.
