I got a humidifier that evaporates water through ionization. Is the vapor harmful to breathe?

I ask this question primarily because I bought an air purifier once and there was an obvious ozone odor, which I promptly returned the product to the store. The humidifier I bought more recently smells nothing like ozone and whatever odor is produced is very subtle. I just don't want to be breathing this in now and find out 10 years from now I'm dying of cancer. This humidifier appeals to me to help me with allergies because it doesn't use up heat to humidify the room. Thanks,

There are no settings. It's just called an "atomizer" or "ionizer", but it uses an electric current of some sort to evaporate the water (the evaporation is not hot at all).

As for the other answer, I'm not sure what you mean by it removes ions/toxins from the air. This is a water purifier, so the ionizer device is not exposed to the air at all. If you are referencing the air purifier I once purchased, well I only had this for a few days and refered to this simply because it had an ozone odor (where ozone is known to be carcinogenic).

I'd like to know if this evaporated water is carcinogenic! This vapor has a slight odor, not of ozone. Can't really describe it :-(.

Is there a setting to determine how much of each type of Water Ion comes out of the machine? It would probably be more helpful to breathe in the Alkaline water than the Acidic water. Although I wouldn't recommend putting my mouth on the nozzle and breathing it directly :)

All it does is remove ions/toxins fropm the air dear. Ions dont really effect you health in an spactular way..although the do involve the charge the "ionizer" is expelling..the idea behind the is that air is sucked up de ionized <Thus the electric charge of the waters, and various particls in the water change> and the ick is attracted to your filter and the water goes out into the air sans ick
and you breath humidified air that's less icky.
