Overweight...?

I am 5'9 a college athlete and I have always weighed around 138-140. I recently started an internship and I have gained weight I now weigh 145. I gained it all in my butt and legs, could this have to do with sitting all day behind a computer. I work out 6 days a week for 1 and a half hours, but I would like to be back to my original weight, in about 10 days, is this possible? and am I overweight at 145? Thanks so much for the help and advice...

I don't think your overweight at all! It sounds like you may have put on a little weight from being less active than you were before.

If you want to go down to your original weight it will probably take longer than 10 days - my guess is probably a couple of months. I would try to get a little more active by parking farther away from work, taking a walk at lunch time, mowing the lawn, roller blading around the neighborhood - that kind of stuff.

Diet-wise you may need to re-examine your calorie intake and see if it has changed since you started working. You might need to take in less calories a while to up your weight loss.

Usually eating 2 hard-boiled or poached eggs for breakfast, having veggies or fruit as a mid-day snack, eating 4 ounces of lean meat for lunch (like chicken, halibut, or shrimp) with 2 cups of green salad (not iceberg or butter leaf lettuce), or other green veggies like broccoli, green beans, spinach; and doing the same thing for dinner will reduce your calories enough to trigger some weight loss. Up your essential fats to help you burn fat by using olive oil for cooking and salads, and taking a tablespoon or two of flaxseed oil. And don't eat any sugar, including the artificial sweeteners - the only one to use is Stevia - none of the others are good for you. Remember to drink lots of water - 8 to 10 cups a day.

I have a recipe for a three day de-tox that helps your body drop weight a little faster if your interested. Contact me and I'll give you the recipe.

鈾?no your not overweight and guys like butt and thighs... so I think you should stick with the new you :D 鈾?/div>

I dont think you are overweight compared to the BMI chart...but if you work out that much you should be seeing some results. I only work out 3 times a week for an hour and a half. I have hips and a** to. I kinda want to slim it down a lil more but guys love curves in womans now a days. I say keep the phatty if you got it!!

at 5'9" I would say no.

losing 5 lbs in 10 days is not impossible --

you can do it temporarily with the "Hollywood diet" or more permanently with moderating your intake and continuing to exercise.

:)

You want to lose five pounds in 10 days and you're an athlete? Obviously you're not a wrestler - those folk know how to drop or gain five pounds overnight! Maybe you should check with them.
I'm 5'11" and 207 ... you're just sitting more than you used to and probably not eating as healthy as you should. Review what you're eating and how much. I bet that is the key to your gain.

Eat a healthy meal...exercise more than you sit in front of the computer.
145=mostly muscle!!!! , so that's not overweight

I don't think you're overweight. You might want to check to see what your weight should be but since I'm 5'8 and 145 lbs is the minimum weight that I should be at then, I don't think you're overweight. As for getting to your original weight in 10 days, I think it is possible.

Weight can fluctuate, I wouldn't worry about it. You are not overweight. When you were at 140 did you think you were pushing it? Everyone gains weight. It's all about diet and exercise. Maybe at work you can use the stairs instead of the elevator, or try to find other ways to stimulate your body while you are at work.

ok this information that i will b giving u is very important because i use to weight 200 at the age of 11 n i wasnt very tall.... now im 17 at 5'7 n i weight 130 pounds...thats very healthy... now this is how i lost all that weight.... it will take u about 3 to 4 months but remmember if u put ur mind to it u can really do it... ok in the morning eat ONLY a bannana with half a cup of 2% milk between 8 n 12 o clock...it depends at wat time u wake up...in the afternoon between1 n 3 o clock eat a regular lunch... when i say regular i mean anything ur mom makes as long as its nothing fattening..eat a lunch that contains no oil or fried in it...its is best to eat meat during lunch time... do not eat hamburgers fries or n e thing from FAST FOOD PLACES... if u want something to go eat something healthy at SUBWAY... the best place to eat when on a diet n want to eat a quick LUNCH not DINNER..if u get hungrey later on between 3 to 7 eat a salad... do not eat after 7 because thats how u gain massive weight trust me.... if u get hungrey between meals eat FRUITS or VEGTABLES...thats it nothing else as snacks.... drink lots of water because water helps u lose the fat because u pee it out... i would say try to fit in 8 glasses of water A DAY....try to excersize... walk around the block every day or if u have stairs go up n down lyk 10 times a day...n e typ of excerisize is good even if it is small... when u first go on this diet u must b determined to do it.... NO SUGAR AT ALL..... when u eat sugar n the sugar reaches u body it turns into FAT....so no sugar lyk candy cookis.... I NO IT WILL B HARD BUT TRUST ME U WILL LOVE THE RESULTS... ok somethings that u most avoid but can eat are milk, bread..ect... what i mean is that when u drink milk get the 2 or 1 % milk NEVER THE WHOLE.... the whole is very fattening...the bread u can eat but NEVER EAT WHITE.... buy wheat....when ever u but a drink lyk orange juice or minite maid ALWAYZ go for the FAT FREE or LOW CARB.....another thing i will go into is the calories ... count ur calorie intake because that helped me when i was in or on a diet.... do not EXCEED more than 2,000 calories... if u go over board or 50 or 75 calories thats ok....but if u intake 2,000 calories a day for a month u will c a drastic change.... remmember 3,500 equal to a pound but if u are not on a diet u can only intake about 2,200 calories a day... but try to intake 2,000 for a diet... do not count the calorie intake of fruits or veggies on ly ur salad n drink and lunch meal... if u follow this u will have great results....remmember be DETERMINED...i would love for u to lose weight because i lost weight when i thought i couldnt... o 1 more thing... sleep for no more than 8 to 9 hours a day because if u exceed that u will gain major weight... sorry if i gave u too much info lol good luck n remmember it worked on me ...PLEEZ TRY N B DETERMINED ... I WOULD LOVE TO C U LOSE THIS WEIGHT :]..

no you are not over weight at 145 especially since you are so tall.

hi..........it`s possible on you that you keep to drink half lt. of water in morning as you weakup than you keep your rution work and in breakfast you eat light without fat contain as boil rice cooki and in lunch boil vegitable and in dinner you drink fresh fruit juice and keep it as you wish o.k.

Well of course you can, if you really want to. Cut out all bread, drinks, and sweets. Eat salads, fruits and drink water. I know if I can lose 12 lbs in 11 days you can lose those few pounds. But do it the right way, no crashing.

If you are muscle bound, then you don't have a problem. I'm 5'2" and when I weighed 145 everyone though I weighed 115, my job kept me fit.

At 145lb, you are not overweight in the slightest, in fact that is considered an ideal weight for your height.

If you feel you still would like to lose 5-7lb, this will take about 15-20 days.

Good luck : )

Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 10.5 pounds and 17 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc鈥? Cleansing works by removing toxins from your body. You get toxins from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc鈥?YUCK! The toxins get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the toxins. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck!

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you鈥檙e trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/...

Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid 鈥淗igh Glycemic Load Carbs鈥?(sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
