http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee303...

my docotr says that i am in the obese range because i weigh more than i should for being 5'6 im also 14
maybe its jsut me cuase i know im chubby but i raell didint think i was obese

Maybe you misunderstood your doctor??? Otherwise, I would get a new one. Anyone who says that someone your size is obese is heading girls toward eating disorders.

If you ARE self-conscious, get a diet! Now, I am NOT saying eat less! Eat better, you probably should eat more than you are now, just different stuff, work out, just be comfortable with yourself!

Just FYI, I am a size 2, very skinny, and I don't know what is wrong with your doctor.

Do what you have to do to be happy, and get a second opinion on your health if you are trusting this guy.

not fat!

you still have a lot of growing to do you are not obese and your doctor should keep his or her mouth shut obese is when you are way overweight not 5-10 lbs (if that)

Maybe he meant you're around it...
I don't think you're necessarily.... "obese"

Umm.. but it'd be nice to lose a few more pounds..
My friend is about 5'6 too and she weighs 120 lbs...
Or she says, but shes really chubby lol (but pretty)

That is most definitely not obese, or even overweight. If anything you might need to gain a little bit of weight. See, they base the standards on height and weight when it just isn't that black and white. I am 5'2 and my ideal weight says I should be 110lbs. If I weighed 110 lbs, I would look like a skeleton. My ideal weight is 140, because I look healthy at that weight. The standards don't factor in muscle, and some people are more dense. Don't worry about anything, you are fine, When you start reaching 180 or 190, then worry.

You are not overweight, let alone obese and no offence, but I don't believe your doctor said that you were obese...no way in hell. Either you made it up or you misinterpreted what the doctor said to you.

I don't think you look fat whatsoever, but like I say to everyone who asks this question if you want to be more lean, then do strength training and eat more lean protein in your diet. Don't restrict calories and don't stress about weight.

First of all, your mom needs to find you a different doctor if he/she is telling you that you're fat/obese. The doctor may be concerned, though I don't really see why. You are at a rather healthy weight, especially for 5'6. Ask your mom to switch md's! and report this one to the medical board!

Somebody's mixing something up here.

Compared to other 14 year old girls your height (5' 6"), your weight is at the 73rd percentile. This means that out of 100 girls your age and height, you weigh more than 73, and less than 27. That is a normal weight. See the website below. I'm guessing that you are 14 1/2 years old (an average 14 year old!)

Maybe your doctor is looking at more than just your weight, and looking at your physical condition. If you are less muscular than average, then maybe you have more fat, which is a better measure of obesity. Your picture doesn't show this, although it does show that you don't have a lot of extra fat on your waist, which is the real health problem.

I'm not sure you need to lose weight at all, although most people can get healthier and better looking by eating well and exercising.

The best pictures to show your fitness are pictures that show the muscle tone on your legs, arms, and stomach, and also show your figure from the front, side and back. That tells the best story of what kind of exercise is best, and whether you truly have extra fat to lose.

Drop an e-mail if you have a follow up question!

Your not obese. I am 5'6 too and 175 lbs and 15. Im not obese! im overweight, yea but hell not obese. My friend is obese, he is 5'7 and 270 lbs at age 16. thats obese.
