How do I stop overactive bladder when sleeping?

Hello,
I'm a 21 year old male in relatively good health. I also drink a full gallon of water everyday, as suggested by doctors, by I am woken up 3-4 times a night to go urinate. It is unbarable, and I get terrible sleep as a result of it. Does anyone know how I cvan fix this?

Stop drinking fluids 4 hours before you go to bed, then just before you go to sleep make sure you urinate.

pee before you sleep and drink a little less during the late evening hours

I think its the water.

Talk to your doctor

the only advice i can offer is to make sure you drink your gallon of water before, say 5pm. try and spread your intake across the day and also, just as an aside, the water we're recommended to have daily includes water held in food (the only real example i can think is like a juicy melon or pear...!) but you may want to consider that too...

Make sure the water you drink is taken in BEFORE 6 PM don't drink after that ..
Make sure you urinate as often as needed throughout the day too. don't put it off, when you feel like you need to go.
If, not drinking anything after 6 pm does the trick, stay with it for a week or so, then take it to 7 PM and don't drink after 7pm for a few days until your body can tolerate that.
Then take it to 8 PM for a few days, and so on, untill you can get to a place where you will be able to drink and not get up during the night.
What you're doing is re training your body so that it will be able to handle the amount of water you drink.
So long as you are also passing the water on a regular basis. if you are NOT then a check up at the Dr's is called for.

I wouldn't really try to stop it. When you gotta go, you need to go. I would say that gallon of water a day is the reason.
