What is Overactive Bladder and how many times a day do people usually go to the bathroom because of it?

My Mouth is not always dry and i don't drink alot to where i should be running to the bathroom every 2 hours so what's the deal?

Frequently an overactive bladder can be caused by a bladder and/or kidney infection. To treat one needs to take antibiotics usually. If you have a family history of diabetes this can also be important in determining what the cause is.

Women have more problems with this after having children. Also, if one is sexually active they are more likely to get a bladder/or kidney infection via the partner. Diet can make one have a more active bladder. Usually with an infection one starts to having burning with urination or difficulty stopping or starting stream. It is good to keep urine pH near a more acidic level and that is why cranberry juice is helpful-plain cranberry not cranberry -grape or cranberry apple. Avoiding high levels of sweets helps keep urine more acidic too.

Other conditions can make one have an overactive bladder. Even during pregnancy women experience this but so can older men with prostrate problems.

You should have at least 8-12 glasses of water everyday-and this means actual water not soda or coffee. Stimulants will increase bladder frequency, like coffee or colas. Kegel exercises are advised to increase muscle strength.

you could have an overactive bladder. i think normal ppl pee like 5-6 times a day. anymore than that is probably too much

it depends

an over active blatter is a desise the ppl have to go to the bathroom offen

overactive bladder means you would have a problem with your blader, example would be an overzided prostate, which would limit the space your bladder has. Such as when a woman is pregnant, she has limited space by her bladder, thus sudden movements could trigger a problem. To the point, people go more often because his or her bladder has less space to occupy, thus making it nessecery to go.

Urinary Incontinence and 12 times a day

Well, I wonder about how much caffeine you consume. Is it possible that you are pregnant. I guess diabetes is a possibility. I'm not a doc. When we are younger, we don't seem to pee very often, but them when we get a little older, especially after kids, it's a whole other story.

Overactive Bladder or hypertonic is a bladder with excessive muscle tone. Increased muscular activity of the bladder. The bladder holds any where from 40 to 50oz of liquid. your body has other resources of liquid to elimanate.

i have a bladder problem called interstitial cystitis the symptoms can be always urinating. in my case thats not the only symptom mine are burning before or after going and during. pain in my lower abdomen. it compares to having a urinary tract infection. one time in a 8 hour shift at work i went 20 times. sometimes the only sympton can be just urinating. it also could be over active they have medications for that as well. ive also known of that happening when your bladder has fallen but thats usually if your older. i think you should see a doctor if he dont help you ask to be seen by a urologist. good luck.

Of course it is possible that you have an infection, but it does not sound like it from your question. The normal urinary bladder holds about 400ml of volume before you get the urge to void. Some times this reflex becomes hyperactive. When this happens the volume the bladder goes down, lets say from 400 to 200ml. Now that person must urinate twice as often. It is not clear from your question how long you have had this, but it is also possible that you have a naturally small bladder. The volume of urine you bladder holds can be tested by a urologist.

Sometimes I have to pee 5-10 minutes later, I drink about 6 glasses of water & 3-5 cups of coffee, no pop, maybe 1 or more juices a day, it's uncomfortable, I cant go somewhere without using a toliet. My dr. knows, i don't have an infection. Im guessing I have a small bladder..
