Isolated bladder control problems? Help.?

Is there a medical reason as to why someone might have bladder control issues only 1-2 times a month at most? This isn't overactive bladder, infact I don't feel it at all. It just kinda happens even if I don't need to urinate very badly at all.

It culdn't be an infection as this has been happening for years in isolated bursts. One accident and not another for six months. Its not when i laugh or sneeze or stress my muscles (signs of overactive bladder) and its not cancer.

Due to the infrequency but the near complete voiding when it happens, i don't think its my prostate either, do i have a problem with my nerves? Is it stress? What is wrong with Me? I don't currently have health insurance so i thought i would go to online forums first.

I am male age 25

I'm sending U sites to help U figure out what is wrong. I'm only sending U sites for Bladder symtoms.

Wow, that sounds frustrating! It's hard to say... you seem to have ruled out a lot of the more obvious causes already... but if I had to guess, I'd say the fact that you don't feel it prior to the "accident" happening probably points to a nerve problem. If it were a bladder or muscle problem, like you said, you'd probably feel a sudden and overpowering urge in your bladder right before it happened. (Leaking when you laugh, sneeze or cough, though, are signs of stress incontinence, not overactive bladder, which is something different -- but overactive bladder would probably come with a strong sensation of urgency as well.)

A couple of other things might make your question a bit clearer -- does this happen during the day, or in your sleep at night, or both? Has this been happening for your entire life, or did it just start happening recently? If it's a lifelong thing, has it become more severe recently, or what in your life has changed to make you decide to seek help for it just now?

I don't know this from personal experience, but I've heard of some people who have problems with wetting the bed at night (I don't know if this is your problem or not though?) that started after minor injuries to their lower back or spinal column, which can sometimes mess with the nerves that control the bladder even if there's not a lot of pain or other symptoms down there. In some of those cases, chiropractic adjustments were all that was needed to fix the problem. I don't know your feelings about chiropractors in general, but perhaps you could try there first -- they should be somewhat less expensive than hospitalization or surgery, at any rate!
