It's okay to call it what it is. Herpes simplex 1. You need to report this to your doctor. Abreva is an OTC and may not be enough for you.

Try the blistex and warm compresses as these blisters are only cold sores associated with dehydration. It is also called a hypes virsu.

My husband gets terrible fever blisters and he uses abreva (gotta apply it 5x per day), in combination with L-Lysine (1000mg tablets, 3x a day) & a B-stress complex vitamin (once a day).
A friend of ours (who is a doctor) said that you can get a prescription for valtrex if you get them often enough & bad enough. If you've had yours for a month I'd go to the doctor or at least try the lysine 3x a day. Any local drugstore will have it in the vitamin & supplement section. Hope this helps!
