Does anyone know of any cold medicines over the counter that work?

I have a horrible cold, and I have been taking over the counter medicines to realive my symptoms... very conjested in the nose, sore throat. Any home remedies.... Miserable! My spelling may be bad sorry, don't care to much right now! :(

mucinex takes away all the congestion and drainage and phlegm and will not cause you to feel drowsy

there is no cure for the cold only medicine to RELIEVE the symptoms. I like Nyquil. You just sleep until there is no more cold.
