What particular over-the-counter medicines should someone buys who has an external hemorrhoids?

My doctor recommend placing a cotton ball saturated with Vitamin E oil directly on the hemorrhoid and the swelling will go down. After birthing a child I had this problem, I took the doctors advice and it worked.

Buy and use Preparation H.........then use Tucks to wipe yourself. This will REALLY help take away the itch, burn, pain.....while you recover.

Studies are showing that grape seed extracts may help with hemorrhoids. Take a good antioxidant, like those from Melaleuca.com. Grape seed extract is so important. Be careful though. Many manufacturers use left over wine-making grapes or sulfur dioxide in the extraction process and some people can have a reaction to the sulfur dioxide. Melaeluca does not use sulfur dioxide or left over grapes. You need to go through an existing customer to set up an account with Melaleuca, but after that you can shop directly from the company. I would also go to www.rmbarry.com and purchase the booklet called, All About Grape Seed Extract by Dallas Clouatre, PhD. It is great information.

I started taking a supplement for varicose veins and i really noticed a difference in the size of my hemorroids It has herbal horse chesnuts and other things . I just went to natures pantry and asked a clerk and they pointed them all out to me!

My friend started drinking Mona Vie and her hemorrhoids are almost gone in a week!. She was contemplating having an operation before she started drinking the fruit juice. Its been a month now and she is blissfully happy about how great things are for her. This juice has an assortment of 100% juice ACAI being the #1 ingredient. I would go this route before trying things that have to be inserted inside you. Natural is the way to go.

Avoid eating foods that constipate you.
Stay away from bananas, cheese, etc.
Exercise everyday. Take long walks.
Gotta get that lower colon back to normal.
Eat plenty of vegetables and foods that pass through easily. I hope you feel better soon.
Drink plenty of clean water.

Tucks cream is best. It used to be called Anusol. It is both an inflammation reducer and it has cortisone in it to stop the itch. This is what my pharmacist recommends.

I literally tried everything!!! After my son was born I had awful hemorrhoids that itched and bled. The Tucks pads helped with the immediate pain, (i used to use them as a compress for 10-15 min) but it was a crutch, something that I had to use repeatedly. Preperation H did absolutely NOTHING for me at all except left a goopy mess.

In a fit of despair, at 3 in the morning, I grabbed my son's diaper rash cream. And let me tell you how AWESOME that worked! I only use it now once or twice a month (usually after super long days on my feet) and I am finally itch and pressure free!

Tucks medicated pads are a name brand but they are pads soaked in pure Witch Hazel which act as a natural Vasoconstrictor for Hemmorhoids.

i have a pop-up-tub of butt wipes that i pour witch hazel into and use them to wipe my rear. keeps my hemorrhoids in check. and the aloe in the wipes helps too.
