How does a 24 year old clear up acne with over the counter medicines that are made for teenagers? |
I never had problems in high school. Now suddenly, I do. I hate it. It's mostly on my chin. My skin is also much oiler than it used to be. I have done research about hormones imbalances and hypothyroidism. Try an over-the-counter non alcholic product made for adults, containing salicyclic (sp?) acid such as Neutrogena Anti wrinkle anti blemish. If you think it may be a Hormone imbalance, you need to have a talk with your Dermatoligist. The thing that has worked best for me if Proactive. Although you cant get it at your local Shoprite. You can order it from proactive.com or places like QVC. You can usually get a special for like $19.99 a mnth. It comes with the 3 Steps and a mask. Good luck! Im 26 and I had the same problem, no acne till I hit my 20's, mostly on my chin too. I tryed all kinds of over the counter products and some worked for a while but nothing kept my skin clear, finally I went to a dermatologist and she gave me topical antibiotics (clindamycin $50) and cleanser w/ glycolics (not to much $$$) soooo worth every penny!!! Dont mess w/ the over the counter stuff made for teens!! Good Luck Accutane works but very expensive. |
