How are prescription medicine different from over-the-counter-medicine?? |
how are prescription medicine different from over-the-counter-medicine?? OTC medications are proven to be safe and effective. They are under the same manufacturing requirements as prescription medications. This does not include herbal supplements, which are not proven to be effective. OTC medications are only doses that are lower than doses a doctor can prescribe. OTC can also be dangerous, just like prescription medications if they are not taken in the way it is directed on the box. It's a legal difference. They both have the same quality requirements. It's just OTCs have been proven to be less dangerous and able to be taken independently and prescription medications have not. |
