What over the counter medicine is good for Urinary tract infections? |
i have a burning sensation when i pee, im itchy, and i thnk i have a cut down there. i am going to go to the dr's asap, but in meanwhile what is the best over the counter medicine to take? AZO and cranberry juice. You need an antibiotic if you have a UTI. Could it be a vaginal yeast infection? If so there are many creams you can buy for that. Tons of cranberry juice!!! This is the best remedy ever. They even sell some OTC cranberry pills, but the juice is the best and quickest way to rid the burning. AZO is the name of the medication. It will make your pee orange but it works. Cranberry pills and cranberry juice is good that will help with that but you might want to still check with the doctor if not cleared it can cause some serious problems. I can vouch for the AZO and cranberry juice - for UTI...but it sounds a bit like you may have a yeast infection (the itchiness) so check out something like Monostat. I agree, get some AZO, and drink plenty of fluids until you can get to a Dr. The Dr. will give you antibiotics and some big red pills (just max strength AZO). Your pee will be orange and stain everything it touches, so guys be careful where you drip! ;) What you should drink is Cranberry Juice and it will help. It works for me. Whoa, whoa, whoa. How do you know it is a UTI? You don't have a cut with a UTI. If you itch, most likely you have a yeast infection. There is no itching with a UTI. UTI = burning on the inside, back pain. Yeast infection = itching and a little burning on the outside when the pee gets on your skin. You need diflucan from you doctor if you have a yeast infection and you can buy over the counter monistat until you get a prescription. Use the cream on yourself where it itches. If you truly have a UTI, then use Uristat over the counter. Its next to the monistat. Cherry Extract gelcaps (you can get these at your local health store like GNC) these help with both yeast infections and UTIs. none you need antibiotics or it will go to your kidneys and **** you up so get your **** to the doc and get it taken care of azo hands down |
