What can you use to clear bad athletes foot?..we have tried over the counter medicine and it will not work.?

We even went to the doctor and they said that over the counter medicine will take care of it and its been a month and a half and its still bad!

try the lamisil maybe spray desenex but while you do any of that spray lysol in your shoes to kills anything living in there

Use Lamisil like it says to use. It will work.

Have you tried the new lamisil foot creme for women? if that doesn't work you may have to get prescribed the lamisil tablet.

ever tried Mycota cream and powder, the cream rub on your feet and the powder sprinkle in your shoes, it clears it

my husband soaked his foot in a bleach and water combination once a day for 1 week. No problems since. It can't hurt to try it. Just don't use too much bleach. May 1/4 cup to 1 gal water.

Vix vapor rub. Thats what my mom uses. She said it works really good and that it's going away really fast.

Where are you getting athlete's foot from? If you have fungus and mold in your shoes or whatever, your probably re-infecting yourself every time you come in contact with that item.

Make sure the feet stay dry with a good powder. If you can find an anti-fungal shampoo you can soak and wash the feet in that. If that doesn't work you will need to go back to the doctor and get a stronger prescription.

make sure you wear slippers at home and clean your bathtub really well...change socks as often as possible and spray the inside of the boots and shoes. When you share the public shower facilities wear slippers as well.Keep your feet dry all the time.

Raw potato cut into slices and black cracked pepper all over then rub this in... i know its weird but my sister used it and it cleared up in about a week

I know you say you have tried OTC meds, but if you haven't tried desinex, give that a shot. Otherwise, a good start is to get a full pedicure...either you do it or have it done. Start fresh, being sure to keep up with the medicines whether it is flared up badly or not.
If you are suffering from split open, cracked, and bleeding problems...I'd see a specialist instead of a family physician.
Be sure to wear thick, clean socks that you change often, and switch between different shoes frequently, as well as leaving socks and slippers off as often as possible.

Always keep your feet dry.use antiseptic powder and always wear clean socks.wear sandals till its cured.Or go and see doctor for precribed cream but make sure you always wear clean socks and shoes

There are commercial things, and there are natural things and remedies you can do. I prefer the latter coz its sustainable and relatively safe.

Commercial things are those already who have answered your question, but i would try to focus on the other half which my brother himself have tried and worked.

Athletes foot is complex, a combination of different things why you have them. People who have foot sweating experience them more often. To get rid of it, you should try to practice the following and for sure you will see the difference:

1. Foot washing - whenever you wash your feet, use soap and water to clean it.

2. When you use socks, use the one that is a combination of cotton and polyester, usually the thinner ones, not the thick athletes socks you usually see, and wear them after your feet has dried not while they are wet.

The thick ones even if they absorb sweat do keep your feet sweating thus will make it wet and thus development of athletes foot is favored. The thinner socks which are polyester & cotton combination do absorb too, but will make it a bit fresher eliminating excessive sweating.

Sometimes, its just the type of socks that makes the disease more pronounced, while the others would eliminate it. My brother had proven this.

3. If you can tolerate, use pulverized alum lumps (some south east asian people call it "tawas") applied to your foot prior to wearing your socks. This definitely removes the athletes foot in a maximum of 2 days!

From those 3 alone, i'm sure it will be gone....

I had quite a bad bout of athletes foot a few years back which took ages to clear. I wore Cotton socks, which I changed and had them washed every day. I bought a Dual Action Athlete's Foot Spray (Tolnaftate) Treats athlete' foot and relieves irritation, which I sprayed between my toes, as well as the whole foot after I washed my feet in a bowl of soapy water with a teaspoon of table salt added first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I also gave my shoes a good spray as well. Touch wood - I've not had the problem since.
