What over the counter medicine is good for coughing in adults?

Me and my husband both have this bad cough that is keeping us awake at night. Sore throat too. Until we can get in to see the doc, what over the counter meds are good for cough in adults?

Robitussin. find the one that is right for the kind of cough you have. i don't like the ones that cover too many symptoms, they seem to make me feel bad...probably CF or DM or if you have a Vicodin you can take that. hydrocodone (vicodin) is the active ingredient in most prescription cough meds. and it will work very well. do see a dr. though

Thera-Flu in liquid is very good for cough. Comes in Daytime and Nightime. Also try Listerine before going to bed and in the morning, it helps a lot.

It definitely sounds like you and your husband are catching something! Robitussin usually works really good for me. I pretty much buy Robitussin anytime I get sick.
