Ovarian cysts--?

I have them- and i keep getting them-- if you've had one or more experiances with this could you explain what all you went through? so i know exactly what im dealing with?

Hey. I've had them before and my sis has. the best OTC med for this is Naproxen Sodium (Aleve). If you'll take it like twice a day or whatever for a week or so they'll more than likely go away.
With me, I would feel pain in the side of my lower abdomen. I would somehow feel like I needed to push on it w/ my hand. It hurt not too bad at first but it got worse. then i took naproxen sodium and it got better. but if they recur, go to a doc or ob/gyn. hope this helped and good luck!

i have cyst not ovarian just cyst and I can tell you ....they don't know what causes them and they are so recurring it is impossible to get rid of them. i have had dermotologiest that refuse to take them off for various reasons.............

I suffer with PCOS which is poly cystic ovarian syndrome. They just tell me that they will go away on there own. If you are not having regular periods then you need to be put on the pill to regulate your cycle. This should help with the cysts. Watching your sugar intake might help a little, at least it does for women with PCOS. Sometimes my cysts get big enough to rupture. This causes a little bit of pain and then goes away. Other than that you might want to talk more with your OB/GYN.

i have had them. i just cramped a lot and the dr. told they were normal. this was after i told him severe endometriosis was in my family. he didn't seem to care. my mom had 10 cyst with so much scare tissue it took 3 dr's 5 1/2 hrs to operate on an operation that should have taken an hour with one doc. i don't know what to say, find a good dr. and make sure it's not seirous and they won't bust. everyone's symptoms are different. my mom on certain days would have no energy and couldn't leave her bed. me, i just cramp alot, who knows how bad they will be or what they could become. you just need to keep monitoring them. good luck! i know it's scary.

All through high school I had very large painful ovarian cysts. The largest one I had was the size of a grapefruit. You could see it protruding from my pubic bone. I was put on birth control to keep them from getting so bad. But I will tell you, I had an extremely poor diet at that time. As soon as i started taking care of myself I never got another cyst.

Have you heard of PCOS-- polycystic ovarian syndrome? See this webpage which does not tell you what this is. Medical people are good at that. This page tells you what you do to create them and how to get rid of them. Do you think it is genetic like the 300 pound woman just has bad genes and it has nothing to do with her diet

i have had ovarian cysts. i was put on birth control to help reduce the size and keep from new ones forming, but i ended up having to have surgery b/c they were so enlarged. they were bleeding. the cyst had taken over my ovary. i ended up having the entire ovary removed and the tube b/c of it......and i was only 14! good luck ! hope this isn't ur case !

I have had them plenty of times. I can get rid of them, and they always end up coming back. I have endometriosis as well. My obgyn seems to think thats at partial fault as to why they keep reocurring. If you know you have endometriosis, I feel sorry for you. If not, here are some symptoms.

Abdomnial cramping, on of off your period.
Very heavy bleeding.
Abnormal periods.
Trouble/pain while pooping while you're on your period
Fever
Lower back pain while on your period
Migraines
Vomiting and or nasuea

I would seriously go and get checked. I've had it for going on 7 years now, and I'm about tired of it. Just within the past year, I've lost 7 jobs due to this. At one point and time about 3 years ago, it got so bad that I had to be hospitalized because I kept fainting, I couldn't keep any food or liquids down and I had lost a pint of blood in 8 hours. It's EXTREMELY painful. It's made me wish I were dead rather than having to deal with it a few times.

My heart really goes out to you because I know what it's like. I hope you find some way to ease your pain and get rid of these things before they start running your life like they did mine. Good luck.
