Ovarian Cysts................?

Recently after a pelvic ultrasound I was told they found a cyst in my right overy....I have made a follow up appt on 1-23-07, I have been experiencing headaches, minor chest pains, cramping & constipation for the last 3 days.....Should I wait, as the doctors has told me to do, for the follow up? or does it sound like I need attention now?

Wait, unless you experience severe pelvic cramping or sudden bleeding that is not associated with your period. Ovarian cysts are very common in women. Some women get them right after ovulation and then it goes away naturally when you have your menstrual period. Others are a result of a disease called endometriosis. This disease causes severe cramping during your periods, heavy bleeding with clots, and cramping during ovulation. If you think you have this then please let your doctor know so he or she can run tests. As far as the chest pain, headaches and constipation go . . . this is not a sign of the ovarian cyst. It could very well be from the stress you are having over the cyst, but chest pain should never be taken for granted. You need to see a doctor for this. It could simply be a sign of a panic attack or it could be early signs of heart disease.

Just wait, I have PCOS as does my mother, and she had a cyst. Just wait til your appointment. If symptoms worsen Call your doctor.

Go back to the doctor. In my opinion, what you're experiencing is stress. I imagine you're really worried. Don't worry too much. The majority of ovarian cysts are benign, but should be removed anyway. Also, removal of the cyst doesn't usually mean removal of the ovary. Most of the time, the ovary remains and only the cyst is actually removed. Go see your doctor for an opinion, but I'm fairly certain it's stress-related.

I also suffer from ovarian cysts.
if i am in severe pain i go to the emergency room at the hospital for treatment, and still keep my follow-up doctor appointments.
i think you should do the same. depending on how you feel.
only you can know the extent of your physical pain.
so you be the judge of how soon you see a doctor.

Your experiencing stress. Which will make you feel this way. Trust me, I get ovarian cysts all the time. Even in my breasts sometimes. I know it's hard now to worry, but it is normal. I would just wait until you appointment, unless of course, it starts to hurt so bad. If you can't go to the bathroom buy "correctol" it's a gentle lavative for women. It works overnight and no pain, gas or diahhrea.
