Scared its ovarian cancer? |
So scared its ovarian cancer..plz help? Those symptoms you've described are very non-specific. In fact, they sound more like symptoms of a gastrointestinal disturbance that a gynecologic malignancy. Put your mind at ease - go see a doctor. There's no need to go to the emergency room, as the symptoms you describe sound like non-emergencies (especially since you've been feeling some of them for a year). Just make an appointment. Is it possible to have ovarian cancer at 23 years old? Definitely. Is it highly likely based on the symptoms you describe? No. The only way to tell for sure is to get worked up. Any advice you get here is total garbage - except get to a damned Dr immediately! make a apointment with your doctor Yes it is possible. Is it likely, no. The fear that you are experiencing is worse than the reality could ever be. Just go to the doctor and put your mind at ease. It could be a cyst which is no big deal. There are many reasons so don't get so worked up - like Nike - just do it! Try to eat good healthy nurturing food and exercise If you are scared, go see a doctor. It would be a lot scarier if you did have ovarian cancer and didn't see one. Good luck. People to talk to: That's the thing with the Internet and other public medical resources, they all make it sound like the worst. If you are this scared, go see a doctor. My mother had an ovarian cyst that wasn't cancer. Ovarian cysts are common and it has nothing to do with cancer. Cancer is all over the place scaring people. Every growth, tumor, and pain, people automatically think cancer because of the media's over exposure to it. It makes me mad! It could possibly be a digestive problem. Sometimes when the colon is full and can't release as it should you will have that kind of pain in your lower pelvic area, its your colon stretching.... It can make your whole side hurt. I had that same kind of pain...everything that you just wrote sounded like me. You say you have bowel movements more freguently that could be a sign that your colon isn't emptying properly. Constipation usually results in freguent small bowel movements and gas is just a part of it. Your whole body can hurt when you digestive system is in distress. You feel sick, and sore. You probably do not have ovarian cancer. The internet scares people too much sometimes. This doesn't mean you shouldn't have it checked out. A dull aching pain that comes and goes during the middle of you cycle can indicate ovulation pain. Do you notice a different vaginal discharge during this time? This pain may also radiate down your leg. An increase in bowel movements and gas may also be attributed to anxiety because our intestines are highly sensitive to stress. I would advise you to see your doctor to have the pain investigated and maybe a pelvic ultrasound to put your mind at rest. If you have a strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer than you might have reason to worry- but ovarian cancer at such a young age is very rare, although not impossible. There is a lab test called CA125 which is a tumor maker used sometimes to help diagnose ovarian cancer. You could also ask for this to be drawn. I have been an OB nurse for 10 years and I am about to graduate from a nurse practitioner program. I hope this info helps you. I doubt it is Ovarian Cancer make a doctors appointment and take a walk to get some fresh air. You being stressed out probably isnt helping your pelvic pain. Try to relax. Cancer is possible at any age, but those symptoms do not match ovarian cancer, which would be more closely related to gyno problems than bowel problems. It could be many things, but you must see a doctor to determine the problem. Do not visit the ER for this, it is not an emergency and you will not get thorough care. It could be irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, diverticulitis, stress, etc. You're putting these thoughts in your head. I mean, come on, how are burping and ovaries related!?!?! You're probably upsetting yourself and having gas due to a nervous stomach. Take it easy and go get a check-up! Yes, these are all symptoms conducive to ovarian cancer, however, they are also symptoms of many other things. The Nausea and pain may be a good indicator that what you have is a hemorrhagic cyst with rupture or torsion. This is painful but benign. I had the same symptoms and that is what I was diagnosed with. Do see a doctor and make sure they give you a ca-125 blood test and a pelvic sonogram. They may also want to give you a histosonogram so you must demand pain medication before having this procedure. Most of the time a hemorrhagic cyst will show on a pelvic sonogram. go to the doctor and dont fool around, dont delay unless you want to die! burying your in the sand will not make it go away but will make it worse. deal with. it may not be.......... take carellllllllllllll |
