She had ovarian cancer 18 months ago, and had hysterectomy and followed by chemotherapy. Now, the cancer has recurred. she is under chemotherapy now. US doctors push chemo and radiation, but when you look at the statistics and side effects it is not a good option for most people. My Mom had both before we came here and now that I know more about them and have researched them I feel horrible that I let her go through them. She was lucky (so far) the only long term side effect she has shown is short term memory loss.
The stories I have heard from the other patients here about how they were treated by US medicine astound me. One ladie went home to have a shunt put in her liver so she would be ok to come here, but they refused to put it in unless she agreed to do chemotherapy, is that what our country is about? Denying helpfull procedures unless we agree to dangerous, toxic ones? The drug companies run US medicine atleast when it comes to cancer treatment and it is sad. Most doctors will tell you not to try alternative medicine and some will refuse to even see you again if you do. To some degree they are not to blame, they have not been taught anything about it other than that it is evil and wrong.
Please whatever you do, research first, I have not done any research specifically for ovarian cancer. But I did read somewhere that chemo in breast cancer actually reduces life expectancy by up to 18 months. And the quality of life is reduced as well.

This book is famous for being written by a cancer patient. The author, who was diagnosed for ovarian cancer took up Ayurveda, which cured her completely. Apart from dealing with all the fundamentals of the system, here she helps you identify your "body type" through questionnaires and charts and recommends menus and vegetarian recipes. look at vitamin b-17 and be your own judge also look at the gerson therpy I don't know exactly how it is accomplished, but only an acid based body can have cancer. The key is to change that body to an alkaline body. I'm so sorry. I think Ayurvedic treatments would be fine to try--along with the chemo or between chemo rounds (if needed).
It is NOT a substitute for anti cancer drugs. They are the only things that are proven to destroy cancers cells. Ayurvedic treatments will not do that for her.
What they will do is possibly help with some of her side effects from the chemo....nausea, insomnia, pain. But not treat the cancer.
I am a 7 year cancer survivor thanks to chemo. While you take your normal treatment for cancer, let me tell you that cancer is caused because of a lack of stable oxygen in the cellular level. There are two ways of increasing stable oxygen. Breathing deeply as long as you can everyday will increase your oxygen intake. Secondly, try taking cellfood. Go to cellfood website for details. The evidence connecting female cancers of the breast, uterus and ovaries with high estrogen levels is growing.
Estrogen's job, as seen in the menstrual cycle, is to cause proliferation of the cells in the uterus. Under the influence of estrogen, uterine cells multiply faster, and then progesterone should normally come on the scene with ovulation and stop the cells from multiplying.
Estrogen is the hormone that stimulates cell proliferation, and progesterone is the hormone that stops growth and stimulates ripening.
Female cancers may be caused by estrogen dominance. She can oppose the estrogen by supplementing with the body's natural anti-estrogen... progesterone. (This is how Tamoxifen works... by blocking the body's natural estrogen. But Tamoxifen is itself causing cancer because it is synthetic.)

DIET,

Cancers have a tendency to recur, which is simply because it is difficult to kill the last cell.
Ovarian cancer recurring after 18months has only one option chemotherapy, after a few cycles , cytoreductive surgery may be tried.
Ayurved is NOT a good option, because there is no proven benefit, the word "proven benefit" might mean many a thing- To a child it will mean probably what his parents tell him, to an adoloscent it will mean friends and maybe TV, to someone elder it may mean some magazine/book or some hear-say,...
When I use the word I mean proven advantage in the most scientifically rigourous way, not a one off case,..not hear say,.. not even y own experience, but something that is called as level of evidence, here there is no level of evidence that exists,.. only level 5,.. which is the worst and goes no further down. In oncology level 1 evidence is important.
