Ovarian cancer question? |
Just a quick question for anyone who has been or knows anyone who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer...what were the symptoms before being diagnosed and how was it diagnosed? What treatment was given? Thank you in advance for all of your help. my mother had post menopausal bleeding. She was scheduled for an exploratory surgery and the cancer was discovered in Oct 1997. It was stage 3, non metasticized and still encapsulated. A complete hysterectomy was performed and she underwent chemo. She was pronounced cured 5 yrs later. Two months after that the cancer recurred, she had surgery that removed part of her bowel, intestine and colon, and did more chemo... and she died May 5, 2004. My mother had sudden onset of decreased appetite and weight loss. Her doctor felt an abdominal mass. At surgery she had tumor spread throughout her abdominal organs. Chemo and radiation were to no avail. She died three months later. When we cleaned her room after her death, we found a large area of dried blood on the obverse side of her mattress. That might have been her first sign, and she chose to ignore it. Hello, |
