Concealing an ostomy?

If you have an ostomy have you found ways of concealing it under your clothing? Or maybe wear particular type clothing that helps keep your pouch hidden?

Relax. 99.9% of the time when you think everyone must be able to see your bag, they can't! It's just you being self conscious.

People can't see your bag through your clothes (unless they have x-ray vision and most peopel aren't Superman). If they do see a tiny bulge, then they will have no idea what it is anyway.

Obviously, skimpy bikini type undies are probably not the best way to go but normal shorts, shirts, jeans, etc are fine. Go with loose clothes at first until you heal because you will be tender initially, but after that wear what you want. When I was in my teens I used to wear the tightest jeans imaginable and nobody ever spotted my bag underneath it.

Likewise, I swim regularly every summer and just wear a bathing suit with a splash of colour over my ostomy site which disguises anything there. If you're a guy, wear a t-shirt. In this day and age of cancer prevention, no one will think anything of it.

with the type of bags being used nowadays, u can almost always wear anything, as long as it's loose and u have easy access to it just in case u need to empty it.
