What causes osteoporosis?

i posted a question about surgery to reduce my height, cause i wanna be like and inch or two shorter.... anyway, while i still want the surgery, im wondering if its maybe easier to get osteoporosis? i heard with osteo ur bones like melt away and **** so u become shorter.... whats a better option the surgery or osteoporosis? how can i get osteoporosis?? what do i have to do?

I hope this is not a serious question.

The major cause of osteoporosis is a drop in estrogen in women after menopause.

Osteoporosis happens because the body does not have enough calcium. So it begins to absorb calcium from the body's bones. The bones become brittle and you are at a high risk of fracture and bone breaking and complete disability.

Now that I have answered your main question. Are you nuts.

With osteoporosis you lose height because your spinal column begins to crumble. The vertebrae become weak and shrink. This puts pressure on the nerves that move through the spinal column. Your spinal column, legs arms, hips, feet, hands and even skull can become weak and brittle. A simple fall can break any bone in your body. Women have broken bones just getting out of a chair with out a fall.

I could tell you how to get this disease but I will not play a part in helping you kill or cripple yourself.

As to your question, "what do I have to do"? I would advise you to see a psychiatrist and learn to love yourself as you are. You are wonderful as God made you. Learn to love yourself as you are.

Surgery is not an easy option either. You can look forward to a life of pain. This type of surgery is not a simple one, the recovery time would be long. I doubt you can find a doctor to do it and if you did that doctor should have his or her license revoked.
