What are the best foods for me to eat,i have osteoporosis.?

im 35 and i have osteoporosis.

lots of calcium rich foods..milk, cheese, yogurt, green leafy vegies.

if you already have osteoporosis... maybe you should get yourself on meds such as didracal.

remember to take a vitamin d supplement as well..

Food rich in calcium such as milk. You might want to take some calcium suppliments as well along with your meals.

Orange Juice fortified with calcium and vitamin D.

Your doctor or nutritionist should be able to tell you if there are any foods that can help or at least not worsen your condition. I don't know how much high calcium helps once you've already got osteo.

Do some online research and see if you find anything. Good luck.

dairy products, calcium rich foods

im so sorry! i don't have that but i do have arthritus in my hip and knee so i kinda know where you're coming from. eat craploads of things in the dairy dept. take vitamen suppliments and the pills your doc. and nutritionist give you. they help! i'm sorry and i hope that it doesn't get very bad for you, you're in my prayers.

Try here,

Good luck.

Calcium is a very important mineral that needs to be incorporated into your diet. You need to check with your doctor about the miligrams you should be getting daily and from what source example: supplements, dairy foods and other sources of calcium. My understanding is that a supplement of calcium citrate with vitamin D added is best absorbed by the body. I believe that there are medications to aide the body in building stronger bones and assisting in calcium absorption. It's very important that you be under a physician's care.

All of the foods mentioned by everyone are good sources of calcium ex. green veggies and dairy products. However,be careful when you start adding supplements on top of all of the calcium rich foods because you can actually end up taking in too much calcium and that in turn can cause other problems mainly with your heart. So be sure to talk to your doctor and have a plan. They do have very good prescription drugs for calcium these days that over time recoup some of the bone loss. Also weight bearing exercises help as well. But again talk to your doctor before you do anything. Goodluck...
