Why do women develop osteoporosis more than men?

Why do women develop osteoporosis more than men?

"Due to its hormonal component, more women, particularly after menopause, suffer from osteoporosis than men. "

I guess it is a hormonal thing

I believe it is because we eat less calcium rich foods, primarily due to the fact women are always conscious of their diet and figure. So we should eat more cheese, yogurts and drink more milk!!!

hormones.

Osteoporosis is a health risk directly linked to menopause. The lack of estrogen causes the cells that build new bone to be less active than cells that remove old bone - your bones are being torn down faster than they are being built up. The excessive loss of bone mass causes osteoporosis, a thinning and weakening of the bones.

because women work themselves to the bone, trying to work at a job outside the home plus working to keep kids, husband, to run a household, carpool, chef, gardener, Dr. , Accountant, banker, secretary, maintenance worker, childcare provider, goofer, you name it.. our poor bone just start wearing down..
