Any useful therapy for osteonecrosis( blood loss to the bone)? |
had extreme pain in left knee x-rays neg. MRI showed blood loss to the bone, what can I do to get beter faster? I have the same thing and I just ended up having a lot of knee surgeries (13 to be exact over 12 years). With limited blood flowing to the joints, there is oxygen and nutrient deprevation and it causes bone and cartilage to be weak and injured. Talk to your doctor, but as far as I know there isn't much that can be done, just surgeries to treat whatever knee problems may result. If you do have to have surgery watch out for bleeding in the joint post operatively. It is the body's natural response to send blood in an injury, and the body views surgery as an injury. Sometimes once bleeding has started it is difficult to stop, even if the doctor cauterizes everything. Ask your doctor to put a knee drain in that you can take out later in case this happens to you. It happens to me. |
