Osteoarthritis help?

If you have osteoarthritis in your spine can it spread to your fingers. Like all of a sudden you wake up with acheing fingers. Can it do it with no warning? Any info Osteoarthritis would be helpful.

I have osteoarthritis in the severe degenerative form: have had eight surgeries in four years and now, surgery in my hands, one at a time. I just had a ten inch plate put in one hand, the other, if it last in two years. I have twelve bones put in my spine, eight are cadaver bones, 32 screws, 32 wires. Welcome to the world of osteoarthritis. Vicodin, Lyrica are all medications that you have to learn to live with. I've tried patches but allergies prevent me from wearing them, so that means stomach pills and pills to poop. It's one thing after the other. Don't cry on anyone shoulder, they don't want to hear, it scares them.
You'll find close relatives that probably have he same thing.

We'll start an Internet site someday as a group therapy thing?

In the meantime, hang in there, it hurts so, get used to it. I wish I could give you my E-mail for personal help.

Most people that have claims of home health care products and miraculous recovery from them probably had sore muscles or something unrelated. Osteoarthritis is something you don't recover from, you try and control it and, live with as much pain as possible, you cry at times and wonder why me? Lots of love and hope this helps

Absolutely. Arthritis is famous for travelling around the body. One week it is your hands, next your hips, etc. If at least some joints don't hurt on any given day, you can be thankful. Some days my wrists hurt the most, some, my back. No magic cure...if there were, the inventer would be a billionaire. Exercise, really is one of the best things you can do...but you need pain control to keep moving. Number of meds on the market...have to find what works best for you. None are perfect. I find two of the oldest are the two best...Relafen and Voltaren. There is tons of info on the web to read, and some meds that promise you'll feel like a kid again. Not true. Just gotta live with it, take your meds, and be thankful you are alive and healthy enough to keep compalinin'!
