Any know about osteoarthritis stage3? My dad's knee fluid need to be replaced. Is suplasin injection effective

My dad got osteoarthritis stage3? My dad's knee fluid need to be replaced. I just asked a medic and he suggested any injection to replace the fluid called suplasin injection. Is this effective? Did i got the name correct?

Hey guys..thanks for your input. Got the correct medicine name. Its called Supartz knee fluid replacement injection. its 5 dose taken one every week. Is this painful?

Sorry to hear about your dad. I also have Osteoarthritis in both knees and it was so bad in walking that I had to be put on crutches. I do not know about any stage I had been given a shot in each knee, twice and the last time, it's been about 8 years that I have needed another. I am able to walk normally too. The shots were cortizone and boy did they do the trick. The shots didn't even hurt as I thought.

I also had the loss of fluid and because of that. The bones in there rub against one another and that causes the pain with out any fluid in there. The shots I had made it easier for those bones to move without pain. It's like they relubricated. Ever since then I have not needed one single shot. I hope he gets the help he needs. Maybe see about the cortizone injection?

My mum has the same problem. On my researches I found this: Injectable hyaluronic acid - which currently is marketed under the brand names Hyalgan庐and Synvisc. FDA-approved. Report It

Do you mean Sinvisc injections???

My Mother went to an orthopedic dr. and got injections of something made from rooster comb. He told her it formed a gel just like the cartilege in the knee. She went every week for an injection, and is pain free. It is supposed to last for six months. I don't know if it would help your dad or not. He vcould ask about this new treatment.

Stage 3, marked narrowing of the joint space associated with cystic lucencies and small osteophytes in the femoral head and acetabulum (fifty-nine hips); and Stage 4, no joint space with marked osteophyte formation at the margins (two hips). We defined stage 2 as an early stage and stages 3 and 4 as advanced stages. Stage 6 is the end stage.(this reference is with regard to hip-joint).Consult your doctor.
