Medications for osteoarthritis? |
My mother is 58 and has lower back osteoarthritis. She is in a lot of pain . Her doc has given her calcium supplements and muscle relaxers and pain pills(I believe Vicodin). What can she do short of taking something like Celebrex.? I worry about the side effects with these types of pills because heart disease runs in our family. Btw, she is also on meds for her asthma. She doesnt have high blood pressure but like I said heart disease is a factor in the family : her dad died of massive heart attack. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. She does have a hot tub but says that makes her feel worse sometimes. Well, there are two options she can try. One is chiropractic, it can help by stabilizing and maintain her damaged disc. The other is acupuncture for pain control. |
