Can osteoarthritis become rheumatoid arthritis? Can osteoarthritis "spread" to other parts of the body?

No, OA and RA are two different disorders and one cannot "morph" into the other. OA doesn't "spread" but can develop wherever there has been previous injury to a joint.

The techno questions on arthritis are evasive to me...but the "what to do about its" are easier...I suggest combinations of calcium and pantothenic acid...you cant rebuild anything w/out materials from which to work from no matter what drugs are taken...this i believe is a failing on the part of the medical community to recognize hence the high mortality rate of long term patient care..

Osteoarthritis is caused when the layer of cartilage that covers the end of the bones gets worn out due to use or because of injury and bone spurs are formed. Rheumatoid arthritis is a long term disease which is caused when the immune system attacks the human body. I found information on arthritis, home remedies and treatment at http://tinyurl.com/z5vx5
