Thoracic spine osteoarthritis...?

This was found on a chest x-ray taken because I had a serious cough at the time. I do have medium pain in the middle of my back at times. Now since I found this out, the pain is just more obvious.
Anyways, osteoporosis is prevalent on my mother's side of the family. Could this have anything to do with that?
What should I do next?

There is no real connection between osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. The only connection I know of is if because of the bone thinning of osteoporosis you fracture part of a joint. Trauma to a joint can cause osteoarthritis.

The best thing you can do is to continue to live your life as normally as possible. Make sure you get plenty of exercise.

You can consider taking an omega 3 fatty acid supplement. This should help keep the inflammation down and that will minimize the pain.
