OsteoArthritis: Anyone have it.. need ideas/advice.? |
I have it on my spine. it's hereditary so I've been waiting for it. I'm 41. (I HATE cold) So far, it's still mild, I feel it in my hands, fingers and feet. I don't work (at home mom) and I have primary lymphedema in my foot which is also hereditary that developed. I hear you sister, I am 37 and suffer from OA of the spine too, it stinks- there are some days that I honestly can not get out of bed. Usually the pain is in the middle of my back and in the right neck/shoulder area. I used to get monthly massages as chiropractic care was to aggressive. Tanning helps me, the bulbs are so soothing it's like a "Calgon, take me away". I take Mobic when needed- that has to be prescribed by a Dr.My latest find is a rice bag- it's a cloth bag with uncooked rice in it. I made mine myself to my own dimentions. You can put it in the microwave and place it on your neck. I know what you mean about the cold, it PHYSICALLY hurts, doesn't it!!! I'm SOO glad it's spring and I'm looking to head down south(I'm in Upstate NY now) after retirement. Swimming is a wonderful exercise, I also cycle. I have heard that "Tart cherries" help, I guess it's found in places like GNC, Glucosimine and chondriton are pretty tried and true but they are horse pills. Good luck and remember...(I have to tell myself this too sometimes) it's NOT a death sentence. Dear Valeria, |
