If an alcoholic person stop drinking for five months he can have access to the organs waiting list?

My friend's husband is an alcoholic person and he needs an organ transplantation...I told her he do not have access to the waiting list because of his health condition and adiction. She told me that her doctor told her he have to be clean for five months for having access to the waiting list. Is that true?

YES, that is true. If you stay clean for a certain period of time, they have to put you on the donor list. As unfortunate as the situatio is, many people do not agree with this policy since he is the one who ruined his liver in the first place.

the doctor knows far more than we do

I Doubt that 5 months is not a long time My Friend was Clean & sober for 3 years And they didn't let him on the list. now i visit him in the cemetary
