ORGAN donation facts....? |
such as what is the hardest organ for someone to get.....?? Organ donation means tissue typing. Therefore if you have a rare blood group, or tissue type, chances of getting any organ are slim. Likewise they like to match as close as possible, if push comes to shove the recipient has to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of their life. I think due to these anomalies, you cannot really state which is the hardest organ for someone to get. Likewise what organ do most people need? A baby might need a new heart, but the chances of finding a baby in a serious accident, right age, right weight, right tissue match, means both will probably die. live donor organs would be kidney, liver and possibly lung. a heart or lung would be the hardest to get. and because of the demand liver unless you use a live donor kidney, my mother is in desperate need for a kidney, she's starting dyalisis soon :( |
