ORGAN donation facts....?

such as what is the hardest organ for someone to get.....??

(my guess the liver)

what is the organ that most people need.???

what can you donate when you are alive???

and any other facts

thank you!!

Organ donation means tissue typing. Therefore if you have a rare blood group, or tissue type, chances of getting any organ are slim. Likewise they like to match as close as possible, if push comes to shove the recipient has to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of their life. I think due to these anomalies, you cannot really state which is the hardest organ for someone to get. Likewise what organ do most people need? A baby might need a new heart, but the chances of finding a baby in a serious accident, right age, right weight, right tissue match, means both will probably die.
Live donations are not encouraged unless it is within a family, so say a family member needs a kidney, or perhaps a new liver and they can half the donor liver. Again, they have to take many factors into consideration. I reside near a Hospital Helicopter pad and very infrequently will any helicopter land to collect organs. One organ many people tend to forget about donating, their eyes and now we are looking into face transplants, so transplants are forever moving onwards.

live donor organs would be kidney, liver and possibly lung. a heart or lung would be the hardest to get. and because of the demand liver unless you use a live donor

kidney, my mother is in desperate need for a kidney, she's starting dyalisis soon :(
