Is it true if you elect for Organ Donation on your drivers license, the hospital will kill you & harvest your? |
organs? To those who allude to the hippocratic oath - doctors have not been required to make this oath for about ten years... seems to coincide with the implementation by most states of this organ donation scheme... Hmmmmm Did you forget to take your Prozac again? Where did you hear that? That is utter non-sense. Doctors take a Hippocratic Oath under which they swear to "first do no harm". No, they cannot kill you to harvest your organs. To my knowledge, murder isn't ok, even for doctors. You can't just die and then have your organs harvested. When the body "dies" and shuts down, so do the organs. Organs are not viable within minutes of a person dying. Organ donors are generally people who are on life support and are considered brain dead. The family generally gives the doctor the okay to take the person off of life support so their organs can be donated. yes it's true. lol they charge you $19.95 for it on ebay. yes this is an urban myth...in my health class we watched the video about organ donation and it tells you that no they do not let you die just because you are an organ donor...they do all they can to help you just like any other person and in order for your organs to not be used no damge can be done to the orgns and you have to be brain dead as in if you have a heart attack or in a bloody accident and something stops working you cant donate your organs cuz they dont work all your organs have to be working u just have to be "brain dead" as in your pretty much dead just your organs dont know that yet YES! They do it all the time which is the reason why so many people are dying waiting for organs! I am sure they are removing the organs and doing a Hannibal Lectur, sending them to the kitchen for breakfast! Good Luck you ask really weird questions!!!!!!! (no affence) |
