Organs donation when you are in a critical condition...?

There is a law here in Argentina that makes you an ''instant donor of organs'' except when you have previously said that you are against it.
How can you be sure that when you are in a critical condition the people in charge of taking your organs won't provoke you death even when you might have a chance of surviving?
I know maybe is not like that in the developed countries, but here in South America, I think you should think twice about donating just because of that fear.
What do you think?

not only is it unethical for a Dr to provoke death to harvest organs..but it's illegal too. If you were incapacitated enough to not make your own decisions and did not have a living will, your next of kin would be making those decisions for you.

morale of the story - get a living will that outlines your feelings on resuscitation, organ donation and when/if to remove life support. Also let these wishes be known to your close family and friends. Don't be afraid to be an organ donor.

In America, it's not up to the doctors, it's up to the familiy of the person. It's not mandatory here. I think organ donation is a great thing.

In order for that to really be an issue...I would think the doctor who is in charge of deciding if the person who is in critical care is to the point of having organs harvested is on a personal level with the person who is need of the organs.....and please know that the doctors don't know if your organs are healthy and the proper weight for the recipient until the organs are out. I think you might be over reacting.

That is interesting, US it's completly different. Americans would through a fit over that one.
umm you might have whats called a living will written up stating you do not wish to be an organ donor, give one to a lawyer, a copy to your family and a small copy in your walet. Should you end up in the hospite, they could find it and know your wishes when you cant speak for yourself. should they do that if nothing else your family could sue the mess out of them.
