If alcohol drinking may lead to oral cancer, then does this mean that using mouth wash also may cause cancer? |
drinking alcohol is said to have a correlation with oral cancers. But mouth wash also contains alcohols. why is mouthwash not to blame too? most often the predicating factor in alcohol being blamed for oral cancers is an overall lessening of health not necessarily drinking but drinking to excess can cause an abundance of health problems and usually will affect ones personal grooming and cleanliness. if you look at most "alcoholics" you will find they are not taking proper care of themselves in any way they tend to be less disposed to keeping their appearance and hygiene up and that is not across the board there are a huge number of functional alcoholics in the world they don't appear to be the down and out drunk in the gutter they are our neighbors our priests our politicians and they can be you. but for the most part the claim of alcohol a known antiseptic is the cause for oral cancers is not a classifiable statement without the other factors of the disease of alcoholism being in the forefront of the discussion. where did you hear that drinking alcohol is correlated with oral cancer??? get the alcohol-free mouthwash no, but with alchol it will increse your chance of getting brest cancer. If alcohol did then yes, but as far as I know alcohol does not. if you were to compare the amount of mouth wash you consume isn't enough to cause oral cancer. Most people who develop oral cancer are long time alcoholics. differnt types of alchohol i have no clue i never heard of that.but if thats true then whateverbut mouth wash doesnt even have enoughalcohol to cause damage for that no, mouthwash doesnt have nearly as much alchohal and also mouth wash dosnt get into your system so it dosnt do any damadge I;m not a physician, but I would bet the correlation between drinking alcohol and mouth cancer is very weak. this might be because mouthwash is spit out and does not stay forever in your mouth. drinking alcohol goes into your body and stays in until you take a no. 1 or 2.So oral cancer might actually need more time to kick in than gargling your mouth in mouthwash. I have heard of alcohol and oral/throat cancer connection only in places where ultra-high-proof alcohols are regularly consumed, such as Russia and vodka. (ie. higher than 100 proof) b/c mouthwash has barely and percentage of alcohol, u probably can get oral cancer but b/c the percentage of alcohols n it r so low it would take 4EVR 2 get oral cancer from it, but it also has agents that destroy germs and bacteria. which i think would kinda negate the alcohol effect |
