Does anyone know how long, if ever a person treated with radiation and chemo for oral cancer gets taste back?

How long does it take for the taste buds to repair themselves after cancer of the mouth? Radiation was directed in the mouth.

Yes one can get his taste back after a period of completion of treatment (radiation and chemotherapy).

MY DAD WAS TREATED WITH RADIATION ONLY. HE SPOKE MANY TIMES THAT HE COULD NOT TASTE HIS FOOD. IT TOOK SOME TIME AFTER HIS TREATMENTS WERE OVER BEFORE HE COULD TASTE AGAIN. I AM SORRY I DO NOT KNOW THE LENGTH IN TIME IT TOOK BUT HE WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY WHEN IT DID. HE LIVED A LONG TIME WITH HIS CANCER AND REFUSED TO LET IT CONTROL HIM. THERE WAS NO CURE FOR HIM OR MY MOTHER BUT WITH MANY YEARS PASSED I AM SURE THEY ARE MORE UP TO DATE WITH THINGS. I WISH YOU THE BEST.
