Can I have oral cancer at my young age? |
I read an article at webmd.com & most of it sounded familiar. You are too young to have oral cancer plus you do not mention having fevers, night sweats or weight loss which would be typical if you had cancer. You probably have an aphthous ulcer, which can look like a cancer to the untrained eye. These are quite common in young people and often begin around your age. They are not cancerous. Stress can make them pop up so if you are under a lot of stress right now this is the more likely problem. They take a few weeks to heal unless they become chronic. Sorry but they will not be gone before school starts. See the school nurse and see what she has to say. Do not worry about oral cancer and have a good school year. good luck TO PUT IT SIMPLE YES YOU CAN U CAN HAVE ANY TYPE OF CANCER AT ANY AGE BUT IT IS RARE It isn't common for children to have this type of cancer, but its not impossible either. The fact that you have a swollen lip, cheek, and jaw means that you need medical treatment immediately in order to determine what is going on. You need to go to the Emergency Room at a local hospital, although you will need a legal guardian to accompany you. Don't wait. This may not be cancer at all, but it may be serious if you wait as it could be an infection that will only get worse. it is a 50-50 change to have any cancer like bratty2attitude said. But I dont think I you should be drinking anymore. I'm not sure of oral cancer. But you can get cancer at any age. I had astrocytoma(brain tumor) when I was ten. Oh and with the insurance thing you need to contact your mom. I don't know your situation with your mom though. Sry I can't be of more help |
