Does brushing teeth right after smoking decrease the risk of oral cancer?

im aware there's still a risk, but still. no lectures please.

i only smoke swedish sweets cigarillos btw, if that helps

nope

It will help. What do you brush your lungs with?

no

Well it doesn't really do much of a change 2 the reduction of oral cancer if ur still smoking. But u should look up more info on the internet. If u keep smoking wtevr it is u'll have more than that 2 worry about.

it absolutely will NOT help. The reason that smoking causes oral cancer is all of the heat and carcinogenic chemicals coming into contact with the oral mucosa (the skin in your mouth) which is very permeable (things can penetrate it easily) these chemicals get in and cause damage to the DNA in your cell which can cause cancer. Brushing your teeth simply takes plaque off of your teeth and has absolutely no affect on the cells inside your tissues which is where the cancer will be, the cancer doesn't form on the plaque or on the teeth themselves. That said one thing you should NEVER do after smoking is drink alcohol or use an alcohol mouthwash like listerine, if the risk of getting oral cancer by smoking is increased by 20times and the risk of oral cancer from drinking is increased by 10times then if you smoke and drink its not 30times increased but 200times...the risk multiplies not adds so never use alcohol after or while smoking
